Bandpass line codes for q-ary alphabets

Abstract :
The author considers codes with higher order spectral zeros at DC for q-ary alphabets. A recurrence relation is derived for the number of codewords that exist for a given length and moment, which enables the correction of some recently published tables for q=3 and q=5. Some minimum distance properties are determined for first order codes and any alphabet, and again some recently published results are corrected.
