Abstract :
A precision conductivity ratio measurement system (PCRMS) has been developed. Its use and principle of operation are presented and the principles, features, and specifications of the key components of the system are described in detail. Special emphasis is placed on the procedures for calibration and testing of the equipment. The overall results of evaluation show that the equipment has a sensitivity of 0.0001 S, a precision of better than \\pm0.0003 S, and an accuracy of better than \\pm0.001 S over the salinity range of 2-42.
