Abstract
The authors have calculated the propagation constant in a stratified metallic medium taking the tensorial nature of the permeability into account. The dc magnetizing field is applied normal to the film plane and propagation is calculated either parallel to the film or in an oblique direction. It is shown that the projection of the propagation constant is independent of the propagation angle α as long as it is not close to the film normal. The effective permeability is finally similar to that previously obtained with a scalar permeability and the possibility of using such stratified magnetic materials, whose microwave characteristics are very interesting, is then confirmed.
