Abstract :
Using 52 μm thick TmFeO3orthoferrite plate and 1.2 μm thick permalloy film, we realized a two-dimensional shift array of magnetic bubbles on which any two-dimensional pattern can be shifted in a horizontal or vertical direction. This functional array utilizing the shift nature and array processable characteristics of magnetic bubbles suggests the possibility of functional devices for pattern processing. As an example of these functional devices, we propose the pattern rotating memory which can be applied to preprocessing in pattern recognition. We verified the feasibility of this idea by means of computer simulation.
