  • Abstract
Electrohydrodynamic conduction phenomenon involves the interaction of electric fields and flow fields in a dielectric fluid medium via the process of dissociation and recombination of free charges. This paper numerically studies the characteristics of electrically driven fluid circulation in a spherical reservoir based on the conduction phenomenon. Two electrode configurations are considered: the electrodes embedded on the reservoir wall and screen-type electrodes positioned on the two sides of the central plane. The electric field, net charge density, and electric body force distributions, as well the resultant flow fields, are presented.
