  • Abstract
    High power (>0.2 W) and high quantum efficiency (>80%) silica fibre lasers doped with ytterbium and operating at 1.02 mu m are presented. The laser cavity is closed by two externally written gratings. The pump wavelength range is extended down to 0.85 mu m.
