Abstract :
A description is given of a videotex communications system called Captain, (character and pattern telephone access information network), which has been providing commercial services since November 1984 to all major cities in Japan. HI-Captain, a full-color videotex system for local applications, and Super Captain, a video response system, are also described.<>
