Marvin the Methane Detector is designed as an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle for a near-surface methane detection mission on Mars. This artist´s depiction of Marvin was done by M. Emre Gunduz of Georgia Institute of Technology´s Department of Aerospace Engineering on a background photograph of Mars taken during the NASA Viking mission.
