Abstract :
A description of the new data acquisition system for the GA.SP detector is presented. It is distributed system based on a network of 40 T800 and T222 transputers linked to a VME system used for histogram storage. A 100 Mb/s FDDI ring connects the system to UNIX workstations used for the experiment control, histogram display, and second-level data analysis
