Abstract
Ribbon samples near the Sendust composition
Fe,
Si,
Al (9.12 wt%
wt%, 4.88 wt%
wt%) were prepared by rapid quenching techniques. The ribbons were about 40 μm in thickness, 2 mm in width, and 20 m in length. These ribbons were flexible, and it was possible to wind them around a rod 15 mm diameter, The density and Vickers hardness were 6.4 g/cm3and 560, respectively. Their electrical resistivity was 88μΩ. cm after annealing. The coercive field Hc and the initial permeability μi in a straight ribbon of composition 84.9 Fe, 9.62 Si, 5.48 Al were 24 mOe and 30 000 after annealing.
