  • Abstract
Bell Laboratories executives are "subjects" in a trial to study how people might take advantage of communications services made possible by advancing technologies. An experimental teleterminal integrates voice and data communications to deliver the services under study: enhanced calling, electronic messaging, information and news retrieval, and calendaring. These enhanced communications services and the trial results are described, with emphasis on human factors and office sociology.
