Abstract :
The author replies that Dr. Eweda is correct in noting that Theorem 1 does not apply to quantizers that incorporate a dead zone. However, the theorem, as stated in the original paper (see IEEE Trans. Acoust. Speech Signal Processing, vol.37, no.1, p.138, Jan. 1989) does not claim to apply to such quantizers
