Abstract :
The world´s first deep-water undersea repeatered lightwave cable system will be installed in the Canary Islands in 1985. The threerepeater 120-km 1.3-μm system will be used initially to prove-in the SL Undersea Lightwave System and later to provide commercial service to CTNE.
