Abstract :
Recounts the life and professional achievements of Marcel Bouchard. This issue of the JOURNAL, devoted to broddcasting satellites, is dedicated to Marcel Bouchard, who was himself a dedicated individual. Dr. Bouchard died of a heart attack on September 19, 1983, in Geneva, Switzerland, where he was participating in meetings of the International Consultative Committee on Radio, the CCIR. Dr. Bouchard was then a member of the Canadian delegation ´to this meeting on broadcasting satellites, but he was also a member of the larger international community of experts who work to. bring the benefits of telecommunications to the nations and peoples of the world. He was an internationalist; and radio communications is inherently international since radio waves do not respect borders.
