Abstract :
This article gives a general review of UK manufacturing. It begins with a discussion of manufacturing exports, world markets and foreign competition. This is followed by an examination of restructuring, productivity, outsourcing, and research, skills and technology investment. Supply chain quality and logistics are also covered. It concludes by stating the importance of an efficient telecommunications infrastructure.
