Abstract :
The technical activities of the Electricity Section of the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM) are reviewed. These activities are centered on the maintenance of highly accurate representations of the volt and the ohm via the Josephson effect and the quantum Hall effect (QHE). These serve as the bases for international comparisons and calibrations carried out for national metrological institutes. The Josephson effect and the QHE are also focal points of the research in electrical metrology
