Abstract
Pronounced absorptions in the
m region are observed on surfaces of NaCl that are used as Brewster windows in chemical lasers that derive their excitation from the CS2 /O2 reaction. Surface reaction involves species that are formed during the chemical and photochemical processes that are active in the system. Implications regarding other reactive systems (using either chemical or electrical excitation) are also discussed.
