Abstract :
Single-pass amplifier gains at 1.32 μm have been measured in an 80-mm Nd:YAG rod, achieving a saturated gain of 3.1. Small-signal gain comparisons imply a stimulated-emission cross-section ratio (

m) of 0.19.
