Abstract
The application of YIG (yttrium iron garnet) films to thin film inductors is examined up to 1 GHz. The application of a YIG film to thin film inductors made it possible to increase the inductance without increasing the stray capacitance. The sandwich-type YIG inductor exhibited an inductance 40 times larger than that of a similar air core inductor. The inductance of this type of inductor was calculated using the reluctance of a magnetic circuit which locally surrounds the cross section of each conductor
