Abstract :
The effect of a single magnetic impurity on the excitation spectrum of a semi-infinite Heisenberg antiferromagnet is studied by Green-function methods. The influence of bulk and surface spin waves on the impurity-mode energies is determined, and the theory is applied to perovskite-structure antiferromagnets
