Abstract
A biaxial ferromagnet in an external magnetic field is considered. A metastable state is realized when the magnetization is uniform and pointing antiparallel to the external field. At finite temperature, fluctuations drive the configuration over the lowest lying saddle point of energy. A known unstable structure is identified as this saddle point and nucleation rates are calculated by mean of the Brinkman/Laundauer-Swanson/Langer (BLSL) approach
