Abstract :
The uniaxial anisotropy energy Ku and angle of the intrinsic easy axis to the perpendicular direction, α, which does not include the effect of the shape anisotropy of the film, of an obliquely oriented medium were analyzed, based on magnetic torque analysis method (β is the angle of the easy axis to the perpendicular direction, which includes the effect of the shape anisotropy of the film) to determine Ku and α in obliquely oriented media on the basis of a non-approximated theoretical calculation. It is pointed out that the β+45° torque analysis method is also applicable to media with an easy axis in the oblique direction
