Abstract
An overview is presented of the design and construction of a prototype ohmic-heating coil for the next-generation superconducting Tokamak. After discussing the superconducting requirements, the authors describe the stabilizing copper requirements, selection of wire coating, cooling and structural requirements, and conductor fabrication.
