Abstract :
The temperature dependence of the anisotropy field HA and of the coercivity of the mixed crystal series Nd16(Fe1-xAlx)78B6 was measured between 100 K and the Curie temperature Tc. The intrinsic properties (like Tc(x), HA(x) but also the lattice constants and the concentration dependence of the spin reorientation temperature) indicate that a part of the A1 enters indeed into the 2/14/1 lattice. The coercivity increases with increasing A1 content. The analysis of a correlation between xHc and HA gives hints of a decoupling between the grains due to the A1, but it shows also the limits of such attempts.
