A software package for wet process tool control (AutoTool) developed to provide the capability for flexible, user-oriented manufacturing tool control, is described. The conception and communication of the system design, from user to engineer to programmer, is detailed. The program structure of AutoTool is described with respect to functionality. Special emphasis is given to the user interface
