Abstract :
Changes in the characteristics of optimal open-gradient magnetic separators (OGMS) (relative dimensions of the magnetic system, productivity, selectivity, and others) using ferromagnetic field concentrators in current coils has been investigated. The problem was solved for the example of the plane OGMS with the magnetic system based on a set of parallel linear conductors of rectangular cross section for wet and dry separation processes. For simplicity the ferromagnetic concentrators were considered as permanent magnets of very hard magnetic material.
