Abstract :
The influence of the magnetoelastic coupling on the properties of the nonuniform magnetic states in DyFeO3 platelets is studied. Two types of nonuniform magnetic states are investigated: weak ferromagnetic domains and phase domains (coexistence of weak ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases). It is shown that magnetoelastic interactions determine the direction of the domain walls and sometimes make it possible to observe visually the lattice defects.
