Abstract :
The space-charge potential in a tunnel is evaluated by an adaptation to cylindrical coordinates of Hockney and Buneman´s Fourier-Analysis-Cyclic-Reduction (FACR) method. Formulas are given for the scaled charges to be used in a particle-trajectory calculation, and the accuracy of the method is checked against some cases with known analytical solutions.
