Abstract :
Nonstationary oscillations in gyrotrons are investigated for large azimuthal indices of modes leading in the transverse section of gyrotron resonators to spatial chaos in azimuthal direction. Limiting values of the azimuthal index m of the mode, beyond which stationary single-mode operation of a gyrotron becomes impossible, are found.
