    The 2008 IEEE Nishizawa Medal was presented to the three twisted-nematic (TN) mode inventors at the IEEE Awards Ceremony in September 2008 in Quebec, Canada. The recipients are: James Ferguson, Wolfgang Helfrich, and Martin Schadt.
