Abstract :
A proposal for a Chinese character extension to WST (world system teletext) in China is described. The Chinese character basic set and some new features are introduced. Based on the proposal, the first WST decoder with the ability to decode Chinese characters transmitted in digitally coded forms was developed. Frame creation equipment and delivery equipment were also developed
