    Software packages for electromagnetic field simulation are discussed with respect to the type of analysis involved (eddy currents, thermal behavior, etc.), the modeling method (finite element, finite difference, etc.), and whether two- or three-dimensional analysis is needed. Features to look for in a package are considered, and the modules it comprises are described
