Abstract
A system of circuits is described whereby the effective resistance of a regenerative circuit is periodically made positive and negative, tho predominantly positive. Such a circuit will respond to impressed electromotive forces by setting up free oscillations during the negative resistance period, which oscillations are proportional to the exciting emf. The forced oscillations produced by the exciting emf. will be comparatively small. The free oscillations caused by any normal variations in tube operation will also be small. Means of carrying regenerative circuits thru the requisite resistance cycles are shown, and the practical operation of the system, including the case when extreme amplifications are desired, is discussed.
