Abstract
The dynatron is a tube having a filament, an anode, and a supplementary anode called a "dynode." The tube operation is based on the secondary emission of electrons from the anode. Its use as an oscillating detector for heterodyne reception is described, and the mathematical theory of its operation is given. The theory is verified experimentally with oscillo-graphic illustrations.
