Abstract
An analytic method of digital interpolator optimization is proposed. Performance approaching or equaling that of full polyphase filter designs is achieved through the generation of orthogonal filters via singular value decomposition (SVD). This approach preserves the magnitude, group delay, and composite filter response and can eliminate the traditional restriction to ratio of integer interpolation and decimation factors
