Abstract :
As a graduate student I was given the scary freedom to choose and execute my own PhD research project. Given few restrictions on the research area, I spent much of 1990 reading papers on a wide range of areas to find a research topic. I first became aware of Gabor Temes during this process. His name came up again and again on papers I read on what to me seemed like very different subjects. It quickly became clear that his name on a paper ensures that the paper is of high quality and presents exceptionally creative ideas. I decided then that I wanted my future papers to be like Gabor?s papers in these respects. I also became fascinated with Gabor?s work on delta-sigma data converters, and chose this area for my PhD research.
