Batteries Not Included?How Little Is Enough for Real Energy Autonomy? [Conference Reports]

Organized by Minkyu Je of the Institute of Microelectronics, A*STAR, Singapore, and Axel Thomsen of Silicon Laboratories, Austin, Texas, and chaired by Axel Thomsen, this Sunday evening special session began with the premise that "a wide gap exists between the amount of energy that current technology can harvest and the energy needed to operate state-of-the-art low power circuits." Four distinguished panelists each had 30 min to answer. Highlights are briefly reported.
