Abstract :
In the framework of a micromagnetic approximation, the magnetization process of YCo2 and GdCo3 single layer films and of YCo2/GdCo2 bilayers (magnetic field applied perpendicular to the surface of the films) is modeled. The aim is to study the influence of the interlayer exchange coupling in the magnetization process of bilayers. The results obtained from the authors´ model show an increase in the saturation field of each individual layer in a bilayer in comparison to the value of that field in the corresponding single films. These results are in quantitative agreement with previous experimental data
