Abstract
The small-angle magnetization rotation (SAMR) is extended to measure the magnetostriction constant of magnetic thin films with an accuracy about ±1×10-8. It is found that the average value of internal stress existing in the sample can be determined during the measurement. The magnetostriction constant of Co-rich amorphous film is measured, and is about 7×10-8
