Abstract
The claw-pole linear pulse motor (CP-LPM) which is a linear version of a rotating PM type stepping motor has been developed by the authors. Inductor specifications in the CP-LPM are investigated. Measurements of flux density confirm the hypothesis that modifying inductor shape from rectangular to trapezoidal makes magnetic saturation difficult. Increasing pole pitch τ also improves magnetic characteristics
