Abstract :
This report describes a proposed extension to the CAMAC data acquisition standard (FASTCAMAC), which substantially increases the data transfer rate of CAMAC systems while retaining compatibility with standard CAMAC. Results of measurements with prototype hardware are presented. FASTCAMAC provides an increase in data transfer rate of 2.5 to 20 times that of normal CAMAC
