Abstract
A numerical micromagnetic model is developed that uses an iterative energy minimization method to obtain the domain structure of a soft magnetic thin film under various conditions. This model is used to study domain wall motion and magnetization rotation due to an external field. The results are consistent with domain-level calculations but show much more details. The effects of closure domain on susceptibility are examined. Some stiff modes in the micromagnetic calculations are identified, and an adaptive pushing algorithm is utilized to accelerate the convergence
