Abstract :
A quadrature multiple RF coil system is developed for use in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging system to maximize signal to noise ratio over a given field of view. Conceptual coil conductor patterns are formulated, a theoretical analysis of magnetic field patterns is performed, and coil coupling effects between other coils in the system and the NMR sample are quantified. A prototype based on the theoretical work is constructed. The prototype was tested to verify the theoretical work performed
