Abstract :
A nonlinear, three-dimensional, partial differential equation modeling the operation of a microwave crossed-field amplifier is discussed and analyzed where the nonlinearity is considered weak. Amplification mechanism, amplification range, and phase characteristics are discussed. Predicted results are compared with experimental data.
