Abstract :
The paper states that the author is used so many different talking gadgets. However, the piece of assistive technology the author cannot bear to be without is the Apex - a very powerful, portable notetaker with a builtin Braille display. The author is a totally blind Braille reader who only tolerates synthesized speech when forced to use its laptop with a screen reader for tasks it cannot do with the Apex.
