Abstract
The magnetic sensing system described is an improved design with better performance than an earlier prototype system. The system consists of magnetometer sensor units having amorphous wire cores and small permanent magnetic rods as pellets which are attached to the tongue points to be measured. Experiments were done on the two points of the tongue surface and characteristic patterns of articulatory gesture were observed on each point
