Abstract :
The authors discuss linearity in perpendicular magnetic recording in connection with the interference of the field from the adjacent magnetization of the recording zone with the head field. A newly developed single-pole head which improved the linearity is proposed. At least 8 kFRPM (200 kFRPI) data recording is demonstrated to be practical using this head
