Abstract :
A novel optical phase-locked loop (PLL), which utilizes four wave mixing in a fiber as a phase detector, is proposed to track a data rate clock in an optically time-division-multiplexed (TDM) data stream, and to generate a prescaled electric clock directly. An optical TDM 20 Gb/s-105 km transmission experiment has been successfully performed with the optical PLL.<>
