Abstract :
The commenter reports that the empirical studies in the abovementioned article (see ibid., vol.7, no.1, p.39-45 (1990)) confirm his experience with Donald Knuth´s Web structured documentation system. He argues that systems like Web and Book-Maker are needed to improve the quality of new programs and to emphasize the necessity of communicating the programs´s design to people as well as to computers. P. Omar replies that the original manuscript did address Knuth´s system, but reviewers suggested that it was unnecessary so it was omitted from the final version. He takes this opportunity to make the comparison.<>
