Abstract :
The bit-error rate (BER) of a simulated PCM-ASK heterodyne-type optical communication system was measured for the first time as a function of the received signal power, to verify experimentally the theoretical prediction. The authors describe the principal of the measurement, experimental setup, and results. The bit-error rate measured as a function of the received signal power shows a good agreement with theoretical prediction.
